For Summer ’21, Umbro & Hanon delve back into the archives of Scotland’s football kits and present a special bring-back of an iconic jersey from the 90’s. Established throughout the ‘91-‘93 period as Scotland’s official away kit, the original jersey was notably worn during the successful qualification campaign for EURO ‘92 when the national side finished top of the group. Instantly recognisable by its distinctive chest graphic and vibrant colour pops, the shirt, combined with a loose fit and batwing sleeves evokes a spirit of 90’s nostalgia and the essence of a decade steeped in football folklore.
Following our Carbon ‘92 Pack, HANON and Umbro reconnect as we bring back a 1-to-1 colourway of the original garment. Featuring the same abstract pattern and identical pops of rich purple and neon red, we have endeavoured to stay true to the original white jersey, but with a slight reworking of the overall block to give a more regular fit. As a result, the top has a drop arm sleeve, ribbed collar, and internal placket with snap button closure. Attention to detail appears by way of a vintage Umbro chest logo, OG labelling, Repli-Kit packaging, whilst a tonal print sublimation is applied as a salute to the jacquard pattern found on the original garment.
Working alongside Hanon, we have recreated the jersey, imagined in a carbon grey colourway and featuring the same abstract pattern as the ‘90s edition. Whilst staying true to much of the original styling, we updated the shape and overall block to give a more regular fit. The top has a drop arm sleeve, ribbed collar, and internal placket with snap button closure.
As summer approaches and with EURO 2020 on the horizon, the ’92 jersey is teamed up with an Umbro Equipe Slider which is also executed in carbon grey and the same abstract pattern as the shirt.
